Registration and Privacy

Most of the information on this website is available even without having to leave personal information. The administrator uses cookies (see later in text) to get a better understanding of the way that users navigate through the website. This analysis is done through usage of Google Analytics. These data will not be disclosed to third parties for commercial or any other purpose.

Specific data will only be stored after explicit approval of the concerned person (user of the website) for processing of these data related to particular usage:

  • Nautical messages: If a person wants to receiver regular nautical messages, then an e-mail address needs to be known by our organization so that we know where to send the messages to. Additional personal information can be registered but isn’t necessary and it will not be used.
  • AIS data: To get access to AIS data of ships operating in the area of Schelderadarketen, one needs to ask a special permission. This access will only be granted through a manual process to professional users of related government organizations or organizations with whom an agreement is signed for this specific purpose. It will only be granted to users who agree to provide the concerned e-mail address, their name and the name of the organization they need it for.

 

In addition to the required fields for specific functionality, supplementary personal information can be filled in, but isn’t necessary as the information isn’t of any further use to us.

How do we treat personal information?

Any introduced personal information is stored in our secured environment. This information is only accessible for colleagues who need to have access to provide the correct services to our users. It is not passed to any third party organizations. Our IT environment is secured using market conform methods and tools. Data can be used for judicial investigation if illegal acts have been committed or punishable statements have been issued. We save personal data for as long as they are necessary for the purpose for which the user has introduced them. The information will be deleted as soon as its usage becomes void. Users can leave a message on the website requesting to delete any information registered before. We also perform periodic verifications so that we can delete addresses for which there is no further usage requested.

What is our code of conduct?
